About Sue Lewis
Strings specialist, pianist, composer, professional musician, and teacher, Sue Lewis earned a music degree from Portland State University in 2006. In 1996 she earned two Medals of Distinction from the Associated Board of the Royal School of Music, London, England for violin and music theory. In 2001 she received the Merit Award from the Associated Board of the Royal School of Music, London, England for viola performance.
Sue has studied with some of the best musicians in the country such as viola with Joel Belgique and Wendy Peterson, and violin with Carol Sindell, Robert Hertzel, Lisa Gowdy, Hollis Taylor, Carol Winters and George Shiolas. She has studied cello with Jerry Bobbe and contra bass with Dr. Donald Appert. Sue has performed in musical pit orchestras, string quartets, the Vancouver Symphony, and rock, jazz and bluegrass bands in the Vancouver, Portland Metro area.

Sue brings 15 years of teaching experience in individual and group lessons using a variety of modern and traditional approaches customized for each student and their individual goals.
Sue strives to provide a fun, non intimidating environment for her students and provides performance opportunities throughout the year. Music books come complete with piano accompaniment on CD which helps make practicing fun.
